It was Ben's last chance to go fishing today so we set off at about 10.30 am as the weather forecast was for the wind speed to increase in the afternoon. It was quite windy when we arrived at the pier but Ben managed to find a spot which he thought would allow him to get lots of bites. I  set off for a walk along the shore line. The wind was blowing off the sea and the waterline was much further up the beach than when I had previously been there. The temperature was very pleasant with the sun and breeze. I walked for a couple of hours and on my return found Ben chatting to a Geordie couple who were also on holiday. Ben said the wind direction had changed and was getting less strong. I read for a while and Ben caught a few fish (8 in all, he said) but they were too small to keep so were passed on to someone who would eat them. I then went for another walk along the beach in the other direction. When I got around the corner it was completely sheltered with no wind at all. I collected a few shells and walked as far as the doggy part of the beach, where dogs are allowed. I turned round and walked back to the pier. Ben had just about finished fishing so we returned back to our apartment.

After tea we walked to the beach for the sunset. I was given the privilege of ringing the bell at sunset.
